Gateways honors the Ruderman Family at Sweet Sounds: An Afternoon of Jazz & Chocolate
On Sunday, November 8,2009, Gateways honored its major benefactors, the Ruderman Family, at the annual event, Sweet Sounds: An Afternoon of Jazz & Chocolate, at Congregation Mishkan Tefila in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
Mort and Marcia Ruderman, together with their children, Jay and Shira, Sharon and Rony, and Todd and Liz, have given generously to Gateways and other Jewish organizations. The Ruderman Family Foundation devotes much of its philanthropic efforts to Jewish education, and special education in particular, in Jewish day schools and supplemental settings.
This short video highlights the Gateways programs and why the Rudermans care so deeply for its mission.
Their belief that Every Jewish Child Deserves a Jewish Education has helped Gateways grow and thrive and we were pleased to offer this well-deserved recognition. More than 600 guests enjoyed a selection of sweet and savory treats, a choir of children in our programs who sang their hearts out, and jazz performed by some of Greater Boston's Jewish day school bands - Gann Academy, Maimonides School, South Area Solomon Schechter, and JCDS, Boston's Jewish Community Day School.
